Relic buffet

Relic buffet

$0.00Price
  • This relic buffet came to me a century old and yet my job was to make it at least two centuries old. That's a job of an artist.
After correcting structural problems the design I chose was to create a dilapidated relic, a chippy beauty with a lot of character. To achieve this I have aimed for maximum chipping by painting without a bonding agent in the sun at 90 degrees. Oh, the things I do for art. This dilapidated beauty is one-of-a-kind and rare to see statement. After desired texture was achieved the piece was sealed with antiquing glaze and high performance flat poly acrylic. The chipping is now contained and the buffet will continue to look this way. The top was also distressed by first removing the old red stain and distressing the surface with a combination paint and sanding treatment. The buffet was lined with assortment of contact papers and the utensil drawer is located behind the right hand door and lined with navy felt. Difficulty to create: very difficult.
