Antique humidor restoration
This is an antique nightstand or a humidor. If it was a humidor there is no evidence of it other then the shape of this handsome little piece. The interior is all wood where typically humidors were lined with metal to contain the moisture of tobacco leaves. I had this fella for a long time and he is veneered piece with beautifully figured patterns, finished on all four sides to be able to float just about anywhere. This can be a plant stand, a night stand or simply a member of a family. I have carefully cleaned it, fed it antique restoration oils, color matched the stain to cover small blemishes and finished with new top coat for renewed shine. He is just a little cube 14”x14” inches standing 28.5” high. Since I worked so many hours on it and people don’t want to pay for work, they rather pay for size, I decided it would not be worth it to sell it. Besides I like him so much that I want to name him. So he will keep residence with me and be an example of a little cute restoration I did in 2018.
