Antique oak hutch 1800’s
This is an amazing old hutch. I bought it a year ago and since it was so heavy and involved a lot of work I was procrastinating. But all things happen in their time and so did this renovation.
An overzealous puppy has once chewed the legs of this piece and this damage took days to repair using wood epoxy to mimic the strength of the wood. It is really hard to tell that puppies were ever involved here. In addition this piece dates to 1800’s so we are talking something very old and loaded with charm and beauty. I don’t like covering good oak so the drawer fronts and all four doors were meticulously cleaned and rejuvenated spending a day at my furniture spa. The shell was painted in midnight chalk paint which makes the wood patterns even more alluring. The interior of this hutch is raw wood that was another tremendous effort to clean but leave completely raw and delicious.
Note this is a large and heavy piece. It involves height and glass and also a front step out drawer. For all these reasons the hutch should be secured to the wall to prevent toppling down on your loved ones. This is all one piece and doesn’t come apart.
Made of solid oak wood and 120+ years old.Dimensions are 38” wide 20” deep at the deepest point and 81” high.
