This item is definitely unusual furniture piece and was redesigned by me. Original purpose is not clear and at the suggestion of the seller it was something designed to store a telescope.
This item is heavy and made well of tropical hardwood and trimmed in metal. It definitely has a masculine feel. I have transformed it to a storage bench so that it gives comfortable seat and the lid is easy to lift and store your valuable possessions inside. I also have a key to this bench chest so you can lock it! The top was upholstered in wool blend to compliment the masculine feeling of this piece. This can be a comfy piano bench for two, accent at the bottom of your bed, or even a coffee table.
